Tallqvist Trainee Programme 2025 - Digging it

Tallqvist Trainee 2025

The summer internship program, first organized in the summer of 2021 for university students, provided participants with a hands-on experience of the complexities of the construction industry.

Interns had the opportunity to familiarize themselves not only with the ways of a small yet significant family business but also with the broader construction sector, including aspects such as cost estimation and site management. The internship was designed to be diverse, allowing participants to view the work from multiple perspectives and gain insight into which area of the industry they might want to specialize in.

Personalized Experience

The core of the internship program is its personalized approach: we assess, discuss, and determine which area would suit you best and whether you will be placed in Central Ostrobothnia or Northern Ostrobothnia. This ensures an optimal solution both geographically and in terms of individual strengths.

Tallqvist's diverse operating environment encompasses several fields of technical construction, including industrial construction, multidisciplinary construction in the renewable energy sector, and various areas of the mining industry, such as aggregate production, excavation, and maintenance services.

Additionally, the company's various departments offer extensive opportunities for hands-on experience and learning, for example, in 3D design, quality management, and innovative environmental solutions. There are also opportunities in supporting functions such as finance, human resources, and marketing.

Who Is It For?

The training program aims to develop versatile professionals for the infrastructure sector while also providing opportunities to work in areas such as corporate finance or marketing. The program offers insights into how business operates in the construction industry and the kinds of challenges that need to be tackled.

The program is primarily intended for first-, second-, and third-year university of applied sciences and university students studying construction engineering and interested in infrastructure construction. However, master's level students are also welcome, as well as students in business studies.
